President Obama to sign U.S. into Police State: Demand a Veto of NDAA of 2012

The National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 contains provisions that will allow the government to seize American citizens it deems as being terrorists, without charging them for any crime or giving them a fair trial, and imprison them for an indefinite length of time.

The provisions are an attack on our most basic rights and are essentially creating a Police State.

IMAN is calling on its broad base of American Muslims, allies and other people of conscience to contact President Obama today and demand that this bill is vetoed.

Call The President Today

Call The White House at 202-456-1111

Demand a veto of the bill. Here are some talking points:

  • I urge you to veto any legislation that authorizes the military to indefinitely hold American citizens, at home or abroad, without charge or trial.
  • President Obama should uphold his oath to protect our Constitution by vetoing the National Defense Authorization Act of 2011 unless sections 1031 and 1032 are amended to remove all problematic language that targets American citizens.
  • Giving the military the responsibility to police or indefinitely hold American citizens because of suspicion is like our very own military declaring war on our American citizens

Sign the Petition:

I'm committed to protecting the rights of American citizens and fully expect President Barack Obama to veto the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 if it includes the problematic sections 1031 and 1032 allowing the targeting and indefinite detention of American citizens and converting our homeland into a designated battlefield.
